A narrow Parkhurst stand where the only way to gain living space was upward and outward at the same time, under a strict height restriction.

The roof was replaced with an exposed black steel structure, the floor poured and polished in situ, and the joinery made in pale ash to keep the volume light.

Eighteen weeks, with the owners in a rented cottage two streets away and walking the site every Friday afternoon.
