Ashworth & Co. was started in 2011 by Daniel Ashworth after eleven years running sites for two of the larger Johannesburg contractors. The reason was narrow: on big books of work, the person who sells the job is never the person who builds it, and the client pays for that gap in money and in months.

We run four to six projects at a time, no more, all of them inside a twenty-minute drive of the yard in Bryanston. Each one has a named site manager who was at the first visit, wrote the specification, and is standing in the room at handover. Our joinery is made in our own shop; plumbing, electrical and waterproofing are done by the same four teams we have used for over a decade.

What that buys you is boring and valuable: a fixed price that holds, a written update every Friday, and a phone that is answered by someone who has been inside your house.

We work across Bryanston, Sandton, Hyde Park, Sandhurst, Morningside, Parkhurst and the surrounding northern suburbs, on kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, outdoor rooms, heritage homes and whole-house renovations.
